Here.....er........it is! Speckled and freckled and veiny (is that even a word?!) He has blood red glass eyes, gnarled fingers (only 3 to a hand), green goop coming out of the side of his mouth, and aged bone-colored spikes coming out of his back! He hasn't sprouted his wings yet, but he's securely chained, as we don't need this thing getting out! Is this the mutation you'd get if a vampire and a gargoyle were the parents?? hhmmm.....gargire....vamoyle......I dunno He isn't currently listed for sale anywhere, I think I'm gonna let 'im haunt the studio for a while.
It's Hhheeerrreee.......
The latest offspring emerges from my studio.........What could it be? Check back in a couple days to see what lurks behind the canopy! I can pretty much guarantee one thing, I don't think this wee one will be getting a lot of oohs and ahs, more like gasps and screams!
2009 All Hallow's Eve Carnivale Line
"Masquerade!
Every face a different shade.....
Masquerade!
Look around, there's another mask behind you!
Stop and stare at the the sea of smiles around you!
Grinning yellows, spinning reds.....
Take your fill, let the spectacle astound you.
Masquerade!
Hide your face so the world will never find you!
Flash of mauve, spash of puce
Fool and king, ghoul and goose
Green and black, queen and priest
Trace of rouge, face of beast.
Faces.....
Take your turn, take a ride
On the merry-go-round in an inhuman race!
Masquerade!"
paraphrased from The Phantom of the Opera
About half the sculpts I made this year for this line. In total, there are 32 (which is about 6 times the normal yearly amount!) I've been in a creating frenzy for Salem and will continue to be right up until the big event!! Hard to believe it's already been three months since we were booked for the Bizarre Bizaar, and I've needed every spare moment! There are LOTS more items in the works and hopefully I'll be able to complete them all before we're off on our magical adventure. Check back often for the latest :)
Wicked Old Lady With A Tombstone Smile
This snaggle-toothed beauty is just one of the 13 Salem Witch Theatres I created this year. Of that number, 3 sold directly out of my studio before they were even completed, one is on ETSY, and the other nine I am reserving for the Bizarre Bizaar in Salem, MA this October! I even made the little straw brooms by hand! I created 34 theatres in total, featuring all sorts of ghoulies & beasties. That is almost 4 times what I normally do for my annual Halloween line, but I've been working my little fingers to the bone in preparation for Witch City - just how many times can one get burned by a hot glue gun??
